We inform you that the expo "Chimay s'expose" closed its doors on September 17th, 2006. Considering the success, this expo will become from 2008 a permanent expo. We hold you informed of the continuation of the project.

Introduction

"Trappist beer, a long history"

2005 was the « Year of beer » and it is precisely in this context that we planned a thematic exhibition relating 150 years of brewing tradition in Chimay. This exhibition is set up in the Town Hall of Chimay, recently renovated. We invite the visitor to discover the world of beer, more specially the Trappist beer and its imaginary universe. The exhibition insits on the tradition of the making process, the authenticity and the rigour in the selection of the raw materials, the regional anchoring, the historic evolution of the product and its region. All these elements are emphasized in an highly symbolic and historic building. This exhibition will be opened until half September 2006 and replaces the traditional visits of the Chimay Trappist beer bottling plant. There is no intention to mask the modernity but we want to demonstrate the perfect integration of the inherited tradition.
